Operating out of The Red Door Resort Access, North Mille Lacs Ice Fishing is the only ice operation on the north end of Mille Lacs Lake in Central Minnesota. NMLIF plows and maintains miles of wide ice roads along the sand breaks and provides the closest access to the mudflats.

Our five (5) Ice Castles are the most luxurious option for a stay out on the ice. The Ice Castles are equipped with four bunks (one is a double), a refrigerator (21’ WHs only), microwave, stove with an oven and a television with access to shore-casted WiFi. The house includes an onboard bathroom. Generators – along with extra premium fuel – are supplied.

sKID hOUSE rENTALs

Our twenty (20) skid house rentals range in size from the two-person 8’x16’ to the ten-person 16’x24’. Staying on the ice isn’t the simple experience it used to be. Skid house rentals come with warm heaters, RV stoves with ovens, basic cooking utensils, rattle reels, catch covers and either on-board bathrooms or access to conveniently located porta-potties. Many of our houses also come with WiFi (yep, even out on the ice) and internet connected TVs. Generators – along with extra premium fuel – are supplied.

NMLIF provides direct access to fishing the sand breaks and mudflats on Mille Lacs Lake. Day passes and overnight wheelhouse passes are available.

Wheelhouses receive a high level of service. The plow driver meets you on the ice, escorts you to your desired fishing location and plows you a custom wheelhouse spot for the weekend.

Weekend wheelhouse spots are by reservation only and are limited in number.

Private Fish House Services

North Mille Lacs Ice Fishing also provides services to privately owned houses located at The Red Door Resort and Barnacles Resort. Please contact The Red Door Resort or Barnacles Resort directly to discuss leasing a permanent site or space in storage for your skid house or wheelhouse.
